We’re Avvoka

Avvoka is at the forefront of legal technology, transforming how contracts are drafted with automation and AI. We’re trusted by premiere brands such as HBO, Sony, Warner Brothers and McDonalds, and trusted by over 20% of the AmLaw 100 law firms, such as Magic Circle and Silver Circle law firms such as AO Shearman, Kirkland & Ellis, and Fried Frank.

Whilst bootstrapped, we went into a hypergrowth stage, achieving 70% YoY revenue growth and 60% YoY headcount growth, whilst still staying profitable. With this achievement, we’ve now been invested into by Valhalla Ventures, owned by David O’Hare, British billionaire investor, to fund our lofty growth ambitions with 20+ job roles open.

We're now at an inflection point, moving from a product-led path into a globally recognised legal-tech brand, evolving how the world's most sophisticated legal teams work — and building a company where thoughtful people can do the best work of their careers.

The role

You'll be testing a real-time collaborative document editor used by law firms and legal teams to draft, negotiate, and sign contracts - where formatting, numbering, and document fidelity matter.

Your job is to make sure every feature works as expected before it reaches users. That means verifying bug fixes, testing new features, running regression tests before releases, and catching the edge cases that slip through. When something's wrong, you write it up clearly so developers can fix it quickly.

Role details

  • Department: Quality Assurance

  • Primary Point of Contact: Head of QA

  • Location: Remote

  • Timezone: GMT

  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

  • Start Date: Flexible — we’d love you to join soon

What you’ll do

  • Execute functional, exploratory, and regression testing across new and existing features

  • Write clear, detailed bug reports in GitLab - reproduction steps, expected vs actual behaviour, screenshots

  • Verify developer fixes on test environments before they're merged

  • Run smoke tests ahead of releases

  • Test across different client configurations to confirm consistent behaviour

  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and flag concerns

  • Contribute to test case documentation and help identify gaps in coverage

What You Bring

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience testing web applications

  • The ability to write clear, structured bug reports that developers can act on

  • Strong written English - this is how we communicate day-to-day

  • A methodical approach: you don't just confirm the fix works, you check what else it might have affected

  • Comfort working independently in a remote team across timezones

Nice to Have

  • Experience with issue tracking tools like GitLab or Jira

  • Familiarity with browser developer tools

  • Interest in legal tech, document management, or B2B SaaS

  • Experience working with UK or European teams

No legal experience is needed - we'll teach you the domain.

The Team

You'll join a QA team of 6 spread across the UK, Portugal, Czech Republic, and the Philippines. You'll report to our Manual QA Lead. The team has regular standups and uses GitLab for issue tracking and Slack for communication.
