As a rapidly-growing startup, we’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Sales Development Representative to assist with our sales and marketing strategy, engage with new prospective customers and directly contribute to revenue growth by expanding our existing customer base.

Your important contribution will help build the sales pipeline and find new avenues for growth.


Our ideal candidate will have a background or education in the legal profession, integrated with B2B Sales experience such as cold calling, outbounding, and CRM management.

This role will help you acquire business acumen and strong interpersonal skills, and provide you with knowledge of both the legal and technology industries. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in business development in a fast-paced startup environment. You would be:

  • Learning our product back to front
  • Conducting sales activities (e.g. sourcing leads, preparing and delivering client pitches, completing formal proposal documents for prospective clients and delivering product demos)
  • Supporting the Sales team in daily tasks (list-building, creation of sales materials, contract review)
  • Performing market analysis and research on the competition
  • Updating our customer relationship management systems like Hubspot


Job Description

Lead Generation

  • Source new potential customer leads through market research
  • Identify key decision makers and stakeholders at prospective accounts
  • Initiate contact with new leads through calls, emails, social media outreach
  • Schedule product demonstrations and pitches with qualified leads
  • Track lead status and activity in CRM and marketing automation systems


Sales Process

  • Prepare and deliver sales pitches tailored to prospect needs
  • Present product demonstrations to communicate value propositions
  • Manage opportunities through entire sales cycle from lead to close
  • Complete and submit formal proposals in response to RFPs/RFIs
  • Overcome prospect objections and negotiate deal terms


Sales Enablement and Support

  • Master extensive knowledge of product offerings and market landscape
  • Assist growth team with sales projects and daily tasks as needed
  • Create sales materials, update lists/databases to support broader team
  • Conduct market research and analysis on competitors
  • Provide feedback on competitive landscape and prospect needs


Customer Relationship Management

  • Record all sales activities and prospect interactions in CRM
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Manage new client onboarding process and initial ramp-up
  • Collaborate with customer success on account management


Performance and Reporting

  • Contribute directly to overall revenue targets and sales quotas
  • Identify new potential opportunities for market expansion and revenue growth
  • Analyse personal and team pipeline and funnel metrics
  • Deliver timely forecasts and sales reports to sales leadership
  • Continually refine and optimise sales process for better efficiency

Person Specification

The candidate who would be successful in this role would have the following essential skills:

  • A deep understanding of the legal profession - this could include an education in law, working as a paralegal or lawyer, or working in legal support fields
  • Previous B2B sales experience, including the use of CRMs such as Hubspot. This should include consistent outbounding, cold calling, and email outreach.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, especially where these skills have been leveraged to deliver information to senior stakeholders/VP/C-suite
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills, and the organisational ability to develop and maintain relationships with the above mentioned stakeholders
  • Knowledge of and interest in sales strategies and product positioning
  • A love of technology and how technology is disrupting incumbent business models
  • A proven track record of being goal-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on projects
  • High attention to detail
  • A highly reliable work ethic: a willingness to contribute when needed, even if the task isn’t strictly in your job description
  • Enthusiasm and a growth mindset
  • Preferably the right to work in the UK (though we’re open to top talent from anywhere, provided you’ve got a laptop and internet connection!)
