Who You Are

You're a strong software developer with a passion for high-quality, reliable code. You understand how robust testing drives product stability and growth. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are excited to write integration tests that cover real-world, end-to-end user flows. You’re comfortable with RSpec and take pride in building tests that catch bugs before users ever see them. You want to join a team that values ownership, creativity, and collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

1. Integration Test Development

  • Design, write, and maintain automated integration tests using RSpec
  • Ensure coverage across critical user journeys and edge cases
  • Collaborate with developers to understand the application’s logic and architecture

2. Quality Assurance and Stability

  • Identify weak spots in our current test coverage
  • Debug failing tests and investigate underlying issues
  • Work closely with QA and developers to prioritise fixes and regressions

3. Test Strategy and Best Practices

  • Help define and improve our integration testing strategy
  • Promote best practices for writing maintainable, fast, and reliable tests
  • Contribute to the creation of tools and processes that improve testing productivity

4. Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to understand feature requirements
  • Participate in code reviews and offer feedback on test-related aspects
  • Share insights and knowledge with the wider development team

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Suggest improvements to the CI/CD pipeline related to test execution
  • Investigate new testing tools and frameworks where relevant
  • Take part in post-mortems to ensure learnings from bugs feed back into test design


Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in RSpec and Ruby
  • Strong programming skills with clean, testable code
  • Experience building and maintaining integration tests in complex web applications

The desirable candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of frontend testing tools (e.g., Capybara, Selenium, Playwright)
  • Experience working in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI
